Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

The Gateway Global (G2G) Student Ambassador Program is a prestigious sponsorship and leadership opportunity designed for high-achieving students who have successfully completed the NextGeo Summer Academy and demonstrated excellence in geospatial intelligence, leadership, and community engagement.

This program provides financial support, professional development, mentorship, and hands-on experience to help students advance academically and professionally while representing Gateway Global’s mission of expanding access to workforce education and innovation.

Gateway Global’s G2G Student Ambassador Program is designed to support and elevate young individuals who have successfully completed and excelled in Gateway Global's NextGeo Summer Academy. In the G2G Program, the student ambassador receives financial support, professional development opportunities, and a platform to showcase their skills and insights. In return, the ambassador represents Gateway Global, advocates for the importance of workforce education, and engages with the community and potential future students and ambassadors. The G2G Student Ambassador Program is designed to be completed virtually during the fall and spring academic semesters, requiring a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week, with a required in-person summer component that includes access to assigned office space.

🤝 Mentorship

Ambassadors will receive one-on-one mentorship from experienced professionals within the geospatial and technology sectors, offering personalized guidance and career insight.

🎓 Professional Development

Ambassadors gain access to exclusive opportunities including:

  • Traveling to industry conferences with Gateway Global, all expenses paid

  • Professional workshops and leadership development sessions

  • Resume building, interview preparation, career coaching, and references

  • Job placement and internship support

🌍 Brand Representation & Leadership

As ambassadors, students serve as visible representatives of Gateway Global by:

  • Participating in industry events, panels, and community engagement

  • Sharing their journey through blogs, newsletters, social media, and video content

  • Engaging with prospective students and community partners

  • Advocating for workforce development and STEM education

 

🎥 Content Creation & Community Engagement

Ambassadors actively contribute to Gateway Global's digital presence through:

  • Blog posts and newsletter features

  • Social media content across platforms

  • Video testimonials and educational content

  • Community outreach and mentorship initiatives

All content follows Gateway Global's branding guidelines and editorial calendar presented by the Marketing Department. 

💰 Financial Support

Ambassadors receive $1,000-$2,500 in funding to support their educational and professional journey. Funds may be used for:

  • Tuition and educational expenses

  • Certification exams

  • Specialized training and skill development

Funding amounts are determined based on NextGEO performance, current academic standing, leadership experience, financial barriers, and overall G2G Program alignment.

Program Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Completed the NextGEO Summer Academy (GeoInt Tech-1 training)

  • Earned the CGP-E Credential from USGIF

  • Passed the CGP-E exam with a score of 70% or higher

  • Earned the GIS Essentials Certificate from Gateway Global

  • Completed NextGEO Summer Academy with a minimum 80% or higher

  • Maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher in high school

  • Must be a high school graduate or current high school senior planning to attend college Fall 2026 

    • Must show proof of submitted applications or acceptance letters at the time of application​

  • Must be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior at an accredited college or university

  • Maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

  • Must be a U.S citizen 

Acceptance and Commitment
  • Notification of Selection – Selected candidates will receive an email confirmation

  • Agreement Signing – Ambassadors must sign and return the official program agreement within two weeks

  • Orientation Attendance – Participate in an virtual orientation session to understand program expectations and benefits

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Online Application Form

    • Applications opened May 2025

    • Application deadline has been extended to January 15, 2026 

  • Personal statement ​(500-750 words)
    • ​Outline your experience in the GeoInt Tech-1 course, your career goals, and how you plan to contribute as a Gateway Global Student Ambassador.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
    • One from a professor or academic advisor​
    • One from a professional or mentor who can vouch for your skills and potential
  • Current Resume
    • Highlighting academic achievements and awards, work experience, and relevant extracurricular activities or leadership positions
  • College Transcript (unofficial transcripts are accepted)
  • Schedule an interview

All application materials must be submitted via the online application by January 15, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Selection Timeline
  • Application and its components listed above must be submitted no later than 11:59 .pm. CST Jan. 15, 2026

  • Applications will be reviewed Jan. 16- 23, 2026

  • Virtual Interviews will be scheduled for the week of Jan. 16- 28, 2026

  • Final selection will be announced on Feb. 1, 2026
